I’m Karen. No, no...not that kind of Karen who wants to speak to the manager. I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) but you might also call me a guide in helping those to slow down enough to maybe even learn to laugh at themselves.
I utilize a variety of techniques found in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Gestalt, Mindfulness-based Therapy, Solution-focused Therapy and Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy. I customize the before-mentioned techniques based upon the needs of my client to help with mood management, anxiety reduction, develop social skills, adjustment issues, and process trauma, including religious, familial, individual, sexual, etc. These techniques, when practiced regularly, aid in discovering that they can be free from their self-criticizing thoughts and reveal a new empowerment to apply to their everyday lives. Let’s get started! And by-the-way, laughter often finds its way into our sessions.
