By law, the relationship and information between a client and a psychotherapist cannot be disclosed without the client's written permission.

Exceptions: 

• Suspected child abuse/dependent adult or elder abuse, I am required by law to report suspected abuse to authorities immediately

• Threatening serious bodily harm to another person(s), I am required by law to notify the authorities and the intended victim

• Intent to harm himself or herself, I will make an effort to cooperate to ensure their safety. If cooperation fails, I will take further measures without their permission by law to ensure their safety
